DETERMINATION OF THE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEKS IN INDONESIA: TRANSFORMATION FROM 1990 TO 2022
Abstract
The Human Development Index is an alternative measurement of human development based on several essential components of quality of life. To achieve a better quality of life, a country must see a comparison with other countries. The higher the Human Development Index of a region or country, the better the achievement of human development. This study analyzes the effect of the Gross Domestic Product, Open Unemployment Rate, Percentage of Poor Population, and Proportion of Population living below the International Poverty Line in Indonesia from 1990 to 2022 projections on the Human Development Index. The analytical tool used is time series data. The method used is Vector Auto Regression (VAR) using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the World Bank from 1990 to 2022. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the variables of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) hurt negatively affect the Human Development Index (HDI). At the same time, the Percentage of Poor Population and the Proportion of Population Living below the International Poverty Line (GKI) positively affect the Human Development Index (HDI).
