DETERMINATION UF THE USE OF E-MONEY ON INDONESIAN ECONOMIC GROWTH
Abstract
Economic growth can be interpreted as an increase in economic productivity figures which can also be seen from an increase in national income with one of the supporting components of economic growth, namely technological progress. Along with technological advances, especially in retail payment systems, e-money is a payment alternative that has great potential in efforts to increase Indonesia's economic growth. This research aims to determine the determination of the use of e-money on Indonesia's economic growth by using economic growth as the dependent variable, while e-money, money supply, inflation and exchange rates as independent variables. The method used is Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) using time series data from Q1 2011 to Q4 2022. Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that in the short term e-money and the amount of money in circulation have a positive and significant influence on economic growth. Meanwhile, inflation and exchange rates have no effect on economic growth. The limitation of this research is that there is no long-term influence between all independent variables and the dependent variable. This means that monetary policy has an influence on Indonesia's economic growth, especially in maintaining the stability of the currency value. The increasing volume of e-money use and the amount of money in circulation will significantly increase economic growth.
