Vitamin A is needed for the body, especially for children's health and immune function (immune body). Administration of vitamin A is recommended for infants and children aged 6-59 months as a public health intervention to reduce child morbidity and mortality. Vitamin A administration is a safe, cost-effective and efficient way to reduce vitamin A deficiency thereby increasing child survival. The purpose of implementing this counseling is to provide education and information to the public regarding the importance of the role of parents in administering vitamin A capsules. The method used is the one group pretest-posttest design, namely a pre-experimental design that includes a pre-test (test before being given treatment). and post test (test after being given treatment) in one group. Questionnaires were used in the pretest and posttest to measure the level of knowledge of the respondents and leaflets and posters were used in the treatment. The collected data is evaluated and the percentage results are calculated. The results showed that the community's knowledge before counseling was 74% and the value after being given counseling was 78%. The conclusion of the study is that the provision of health promotion through counseling using leaflets and posters can increase public knowledge of the importance of the role of cadres and parents in the provision of vitamin A capsules.
