Membongkar Novel Hidup Ini Brengsek, dan Aku Dipaksa Menikmatinya Karya Phutut EA Melalui Pandangan Abnormalitas dan Surealisme

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the abnormal personality disorders of characters through the perspectives of Wisnu Bayu Catur Pati in his book titled "Introduction to Abnormal Psychology: Definitions, Theories, and Interventions," as well as the elements of surrealism proposed by Andre Breton, adopted from Sigmund Freud's Psychoanalytic theory focusing on the unconscious and consciousness. The material object of this research is the novel "Hidup Ini Brengsek, Dan Aku Dipaksa Menikmatinya" by Puthut EA. The formal object of this research is the analysis of abnormality elements regarding the personality disorders of characters in the novel, with a focus on surrealism concerning the unconscious and consciousness of the main character "aku" (I). The research method used is qualitative descriptive, and the research objective focuses on the abnormal personality disorders of characters in the novel and the main character's "aku" fantasies about other characters in the novel. The research findings indicate that each character in the novel has their own personality disorder, such as threshold personality disorder, sexual disorder, obsession, mythomania, narcissism, psychosis, avoidant, and psychopathy. The main character's unconsciousness about his fantasies of torturing and killing other characters bridges his awareness that what he fantasizes about cannot be done because he realizes he is a coward.
