Analisis Deiksis dalam Novel Sang Pangeran dan Janissary Terakhir Karya Salim A. Fillah

Abstract


This article aims to describe the types of deixis and referents in the The Prince and the Last Janissary. In this novel by Salim A. Fillah, the narrative focuses on historical events and that occurred during the struggle of the Indonesian people to gain independence from the hands of colonialists. This research aim to describe persona deixis, place deixis, and time deixis in the novels Sang Pangeran dan Janissary Terakhir. This type of research is qualitative research. The data collection method used was reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research uses descriptive analysis techiques. From the result of data analysis, deixis was found in the novels The Prince and the Last Janissary. Persona deixis has six part including; first person singular pronoun (me) as many as 102, second person singular pronouns (you) as many as 60, third person singular pronouns (he,her) as many as 54 first person plural pronouns (we,us) as many as 53, second person plural pronouns (you) as many 31, and the third plural pronoun (they) is 44. The time deixis found in this research include a few moments later, now, then, earlier, during this time, at that time as many as 56. The place deixis found in this research include; from there, next door, three, here, this country, this land as many as 38.
