Peran Penggunaan Smartphone Berlebihan dan Keberfungsian Keluarga terhadap Permasalahan Emosi dan Perilaku Remaja

Abstract


ABSTRACT

Adolescence is crucial for individual development, where emotional and behavioral problems are often experienced by adolescents. Moreover, the massive development of technology makes adolescents use smartphones excessively, which can have a negative impact on their psychosocial development. A well-functioning family condition is important so that adolescents do not develop maladaptive behaviors. This study aims to determine the role of excessive smartphone use and family functioning on emotional and behavioral problems in adolescents. This study uses quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires through the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version, Family Assessment Device, and Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire. A total of 138 adolescent respondents aged 10-13 years were involved. The results of the analysis using multiple linear regression method found that excessive smartphone use and family functioning play a significant role in adolescent emotional and behavioral problems. Excessive smartphone use has a positive role on emotional and behavioral problems, while family functioning has a negative role on emotional and behavioral problems.

ABSTRAK

Masa remaja krusial bagi perkembangan individu, di mana permasalahan emosi dan perilaku sering dialami oleh remaja. Terlebih, masifnya perkembangan teknologi membuat remaja menggunakan smartphone secara berlebihan yang dapat memberikan dampak buruk bagi perkembangan psikososialnya. Kondisi keluarga yang berfungsi dengan baik penting agar remaja tidak mengembangkan perilaku maladaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran penggunaan smartphone berlebihan dan keberfungsian keluarga terhadap permasalahan emosi dan perilaku pada remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan kuesioner Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version, Family Assessment Device, dan Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire. Sebanyak 138 responden remaja berusia 10-13 tahun terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Hasil analisis dengan metode regresi linear berganda mendapatkan temuan bahwa penggunaan smartphone berlebihan dan keberfungsian keluarga berperan secara signifikan terhadap permasalahan emosi dan perilaku remaja. Penggunaan smartphone berlebihan memiliki peran positif terhadap masalah emosi dan perilaku, sedangkan keberfungsian keluarga memiliki peran negatif terhadap masalah emosi dan perilaku.
