Mendeskripsikan Kontrol Diri sebagai Upaya Preventif Kecanduan Gadget pada Anak

Abstract


The rapid development of technology has penetrated all elements of society, including children. As a result, children become addicted to gadgets, causing social, psychological, and health problems. This study aims to describe self-control so that it can be a foundation of knowledge in carrying out interventions to prevent gadget addiction in children. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design. Data collection for this study was through interviews with 6 subjects. Based on the results of the study, self-control consists of stopping inappropriate behavior, avoiding unwanted thoughts, switching between tasks and actions, completing at least two tasks simultaneously, remembering obligations, dates, and deadlines for oneself, and remembering one's own plans and goals. Therefore, self-control can be recommended as an intervention effort to prevent gadget addiction using psychoeducation. The implications of this study serve as a guide in preventing gadget addiction using psychoeducation-based self-control.
