Abstract


This study aims to analyze the relationship between teachers' teaching attitudes and students' learning motivation in relation to their learning achievement at SMP Negeri Yogyakarta. The study involved 117 eighth-grade students as subjects. A quantitative research method was employed, using instruments in the form of a teacher's teaching attitude scale (35 items), a learning motivation scale (25 items), and student achievement data. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 25.0 for Windows. The analysis results revealed a significant relationship between teachers' teaching attitudes and learning motivation with students' academic achievement, with a regression coefficient of 0.294 and a significance value of p = 0.006 (p < 0.01). Further analysis showed that teachers' teaching attitudes had a positive and significant relationship with student achievement (p = 0.012; p < 0.05), while learning motivation showed a highly significant relationship with achievement (p = 0.002; p < 0.01). Overall, the findings of this study indicate that teachers' teaching attitudes and learning motivation together contribute 8.654% to students' learning achievement.
