Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Matematika Melalui Model Discovery Learning Siswa Kelas V SD N Banyuurip

Abstract


This classroom action research aims to improve student learning outcomes on plane geometry for Fifth-Grade Students at SDN Banyuurip, Yogyakarta. The study was conducted in two cycles: Cycle I on April 13 and 16, 2022, and Cycle II on April 20 and 23, 2022. The research followed four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations and formative tests, with a comparative descriptive analysis used to compare pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II results. The findings indicate that implementing the Discovery Learning model significantly increased student engagement and learning outcomes. Student engagement rose from 25% pre-cycle to 35.14% in Cycle I and 81.24% in Cycle II. Similarly, the number of students who achieved mastery increased from 16.67% before the intervention to 41.66% in Cycle I and 83.33% in Cycle II, with average scores improving from 54.17 to 66.67 in Cycle I and 84.17 in Cycle II.
