Exploring Feminist Discourse and Communication Strategies in the Enigmatic Realm of Sexual Harassment Victims

Fajar Dwi Putra

Abstract

This research explores feminist discourse and communication strategies in the context of the experiences of sexual harassment survivors. It focuses on understanding how feminist discourse can reshape the narrative around sexual harassment and support survivors in reclaiming their identities. Using a phenomenological approach, this study involves in-depth interviews with four sexual harassment survivors to uncover the subjective meanings they attach to their experiences, including how they cope with social stigma and trauma. The findings reveal that feminist discourse and communication strategies can serve as imperative solutions in empowering survivors to voice their experiences and creating safer spaces for women. This research offers an in-depth analysis of the interaction between feminist discourse and communication strategies, providing new insights for activists, policymakers, and educators on the importance of empowering survivors through effective communication. Additionally, it aims to contribute to the development of feminist and communication theories while promoting social change in addressing issues of sexual harassment.
