Internal communication strategy of PT. Trijaya Sumber Semesta in increasing employee work motivation year 2023

Abstract


This research is based on the internal communication issues at PT. Trijaya Sumber Semesta. The constant changes in regulations and policies, and also with miscommunication caused a decrease in employee motivation and job satisfaction. This research aimed to explained how the communication strategies implemented by PT. Trijaya Sumber Semesta in 2023 to increase employee work motivation. The researchers applied the Herzberg's two-factor motivation theory namely motivator factors hygiene factors. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive qualitative methods, and the data collection techniques included interviews and documentation. The research results showed that PT. Trijaya Sumber Semesta used several methods to carry out the internal communication strategy. Communication strategies on motivator factors include: (1) Providing guidance to improve skills through relevant training and seminars; (2) Involving employees in meetings and giving them the opportunity to give input; (3) Establishing clear career paths within the company. Strategies on hygiene factors include: (1) Implementing two-way communication and ensuring information transparency; (2) Supervising and mentoring employees by providing guidance and feedback; (3) Building good interpersonal communication without differentiating between employee level positions. However, the researchers also identified several challenges, such as a lack of transparency regarding job descriptions, unequal distribution of rewards, and insufficient information related to workflow processes.
