Abstract


This study aims to improve children's early literacy skills through word-of-mouth activities in Group B of ABA
Semin Kindergarten, Gunungkidul Regency. The problem in this study is how to improve children's early literacy
skills through word cards in group B of TK ABA Semin, Gunungkidul Regency? The purpose of this study was to
improve children's early literacy skills through word card playing activities in group B TK ABA Keringan,
Gunungkidul Regency. This research approach is a qualitativeresearch with the type of research is classroom
action research (classroom action research) with a research focus on children's early literacy skills and word
card playing activities. The research subjects were five students who had been identified through an initial survey
with class teachers. Data collection techniques are carried out using the results of learning assessments for each
aspect of child development. Data analysis used descriptive data analysis. The results of the research in cycle 1
with word cards using paper and cycle II with playing activities using word cards arranged with word trains
showed that children's early literacy skills were still in the category of starting to develop and develop as expected
and in cycle III by playing with letter cards that It is interesting to show an increase in the category of developing
as expected for those who were in the category of starting to develop and developing very well for children who
were previously in the category of developing as expected. Thus, simple experimental activities were effectively
used in improving children's early literacy skills in Group B TK ABA Dryan Semin, Gunungkidul Regency.
