UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BERBICARA SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN SNOWBALL THROWING DI KELAS VII PUTERI SMP ISLAM TERPADU AR-RASYID TAHUN AJARAN 2020-2021
Abstract
media to increase students' speaking motivation in English subjects in class VII Puteri Ar Rasyid Islamic Junior
High School students. This research was conducted in a collaborative and participatory manner which was carried
out in two cycles. Data collection in this study was carried out using participant observation and oral tests (pretest and post-test). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that using the Snowball Throwing media
could improve students' English speaking motivation. This is supported by research data which shows an increase
in the percentage of completeness of oral tests conducted at the second meeting in each cycle. During the precycle, the student's completeness was only 6.7%. After the post-test was carried out with Snowball Throwing
media, the percentage of students' completeness was 93%. The use of Snowball Throwing media has been proven
to increase students' speaking motivation in English subjects for class VII Puteri Ar Rasyid Islamic Junior High
School students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The ability of students to speak before and after participating in
the Snowball Throwing media learning has increased. This is supported by research data which shows an average
increase in post-test results. In this study, the author uses the media Snowball Throwing. The advantages of using
this media as an application or interactive media in learning English are 1) it can increase student learning
activities; 2) can develop the intellectual potential, social, and emotional that is in students; 3) can train students
to express ideas and feelings; The disadvantage of this Liveworksheet media is that it is less effective for all
subjects.
