UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS KARANGAN MELALUI PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK PADA SISWA KELAS 6 SD NEGERI NGINO 1 SEYEGAN

Abstract


This study aims to determine the improvement of writing skills of 6th grade students of SD Negeri Ngino 1 Seyegan.
Writing skills are focused on sentence coherence and the use of punctuation and capital letters. This type of
research is Classroom Action Research which is carried out through the stages of planning, implementing actions,
observing, and reflecting. The subjects of the study were all 6th grade students of SD Negeri Ngino 1 Seyegan,
totaling 18 students consisting of 7 male students and 11 female students. This Classroom Action Research was
carried out in 3 cycles. The research data were obtained from observations, teacher and student interviews, and
assignments. The data obtained were analyzed using source triangulation and descriptive statistics. The results of
classroom action research show that the scientific approach can improve essay writing skills with the average
score of students increasing from 62 in the first cycle to 73.5 in the second cycle and then increasing to 80.5 in the
third cycle. Writing activity increased, students' classical mastery was 27.7% in cycle I. In cycle II, classical
mastery increased to 61.1% and in cycle III increased to 83.3%. This proves that the use of a scientific approach
can improve the writing skills of 6th graders at SD Negeri Ngino 1 Seyega
