Abstract


The purpose of this study was to describe the process of English speaking skills through Problem-Based
Learning method using tutorial videos in English for 3rd Grade of SMPN 3 Gunung Sahilan, which described
the behavior changes of 3rd grade of SMPN 3 Gunung Sahilan while using Problem-Based learning model.
The research method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of two cycles, namely cycle
I and cycle II. Cycle I consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Cycle II also consisted of
planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The results showed the escalation in the English speaking ability,
behaviour changes in students, and the increase in English speaking skills. The average score of cycle I was
65 and cycle II was 81,92. This showed that the increase from cycle I to cycle II was 16,92.
