Abstract


The background of this research is the low activeness of students' learning. The purpose of this study was to find
out how the application of the problem based learning model to improve the learning activity of fifth grade students
at SDN Pucungrejo 2. The method used in this research was classroom action research which consisted of 2 cycles,
namely cycle I and cycle II. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning activity starting
from the pre-cycle, first cycle and second cycle. Pre-cycle student learning activity is 35.48%. In the first cycle,
student learning activity reached 64.51% and in the second cycle increased to 93.35%
