PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS DESKRIPTIF BAHASA INGGRIS MENGGUNAKAN PICTURE WORD INDUCTIVE (PWIM) MODEL PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 4 SUNGAI TABUK

Abstract


This research was conducted as an effort to improve English descriptive text writing skills using the Picture Word
Inductive Model (PWIM) in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Tabuk, especially in describing the nature
and characteristics of a person. Research using data analysis in the form of triangulation method, shows the results
that there is an increase in English writing skills when using the PWIM strategy. From the original situation, only
four students (40%) out of 10 students had not been able to properly describe the physical characteristics and
characteristics of a person. In the second cycle as many as 9 students (90%) who can describe the physical
characteristics and characteristics of a person correctly. It can be said that PWIM is significant for improving
students' skills in writing English descriptive text about physical characteristics and characteristics of a person.
