Abstract


Social studies learning outcomes, especially human interaction with the environment, have not yet reach KKM.
This is evidenced by the results of the pre-test that has been carried out on In the odd semester of class V, new
learning outcomes were obtained, there were 3 students who achieved the KKM score or 21.42%. Meanwhile, 11
students have not achieved the KKM score or 78.87%. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to improve the
learning model and media used by teachers, in order to improve student learning outcomes. The form of this
research is classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle includes stages: (1) planning, (2)
implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. In collecting data the author uses observation techniques,
formative tests, field notes and documentation. While the analysis uses a descriptive technique. The results showed
that based on the results of observations of teacher and student activities as well as test results in the pre-cycle,
cycle I and cycle II there was an increase, where data obtained from student learning outcomes before the action
was carried out, namely at the pre-cycle stage showed that there were 3 students (21, 42%) who finished studying
and 11 students (78.87%) who did not finish studying. In the first cycle, it shows that there are 7 students (50%)
who have completed and 7 students (50%) have not. While the learning outcomes in the second cycle showed that
there were 13 students who had completed (92.85%) and 1 student (7.14%) who had not completed with an average
score of 85. This indicates that the application of the discovery learning model to social studies learning materials
humans and their environment can improve student learning outcomes.
