Abstract


The objectives to be achieved through this research activity are to describe the implementation of the inquiry
method for science learning materials for recognizing celestial bodies in class I semester II SDN Sengi I, Dukun
sub-district and improve student achievement in class I semester II SDN Sengi I, Dukun sub-districts in science
lessons, recognizing various materials. celestial bodies through the method of inquiry.
This research method uses Classroom Action Research which consists of 2 cycles with each cycle consisting of
planning, action and observation and reflection. The research subjects were first grade students of Sengi I
Elementary School, Dukun sub-district, Magelang district with the number of first grade students was 6 people.
The subjects that the researchers took were Natural Sciences in the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic
year, the material for recognizing celestial bodies. The time of the research was carried out from February 2021
- March 2021. The instrument used was to measure student learning achievement with test questions and LKPD.
This research was conducted in 2 cycles. The implementation stage of the first cycle is carried out in 1 meeting,
namely on February 12, 2021 with an allocation of 2x35 minutes. The implementation phase of the second cycle
is carried out in 1 meeting, namely on February 25, 2021 with an allocation of 2x35 minutes.
The result of this research is that the use of the inquiry method in the learning process of recognizing celestial
objects can improve the learning achievement of class I students at SD Negeri Sengi I. This is evidenced by the
development of student achievement from cycle I to cycle II
