Abstract


Use of Powerpoint Media to Improve Learning Outcomes in Class IV Thematic Learning at SDN 1 Brajan,
Prambanan District. Classroom action research. Yogyakarta: Teacher Professional Education Study Program,
Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta, 2021.
The background of this research problem is that ideally schools can use facilities (computers or laptops) in schools
as media in the learning process in an effort to improve student learning outcomes in the learning process. One
of the uses of laptops in the learning process is the use of powerpoint media. PowerPoint media can make thematic
learning more interesting and can improve student learning outcomes. Powerpoint media can also make the
material being studied seem concrete and in front of students directly. The problem in this research is how to
change the action in the application of powerpoint media to achieve the learning objectives that have been set and
how to improve student learning outcomes when using powerpoint media with various variations.
This research is a classroom action research. The results of research data analysis using data analysis to calculate
there is an increase in the average cognitive learning outcomes achieved by students in each cycle. The population
of this study were all fourth grade students of SDN 1 Brajan in the 2020/2021 academic year which consisted of 8
students.
The results showed: 1). Changes in actions taken in the application of media are monotonous or dead powerpoint
media, accompanied by pictures and animations, accompanied by videos, and powerpoint media accompanied by
pictures, animations, videos and students can interact directly with musical instruments that have been provided
by the teacher. 2). The average increase in cognitive learning outcomes achieved by students in the first and second
cycles respectively were as follows: 0.38%, and 0.41%
