PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) PADA PELAJARAN BIOLOGI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEAKTIFAN DAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X MIPA 5 SMA NEGERI 2 SUMENEP TAHUN PELAJARAN 2021/2022

Abstract


Classroom action research has been carried out with the title Application of Problem Based Learning (Pbl) Model
in Biology Lessons to Improve Activeness and Critical Thinking Ability of Class X Mathematics and Natural
Sciences 5 SMA Negeri 2 Sumenep Academic Years 2021/2022. The aims of this research are (1) to improve
understanding of Biology concepts, (2) to increase the ability to apply Biology concepts, (3) to increase students'
positive attitudes towards Biology lessons, and (4) to improve students' critical thinking skills. This research is
classroom action research which consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action,
observation/evaluation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class X MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 2
Sumenep in the 2021/2022 academic year. The object of this research is the PBL model, the competence of students
in Biology lessons (regarding understanding of Biology concepts, ability to solve Biology problems, ability to
apply Biology concepts, and positive attitudes of students towards Biology lessons); and students' critical thinking
skills. The results of this study indicate that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can (1) improve students'
understanding of Biology concepts, (2) improve the ability to solve Biology problems, (3) improve the ability to
apply Biology concepts, (4) increase the positive attitude of students. students to Biology lessons, and (5) improve
students' critical thinking skills.
