UPAYA MEREDUKSI PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK MELALUI LAYANAN BIMBINGAN KELOMPOK DENGAN MEDIA APLIKASI VIDEO CANVA PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP PALAPA JAKARTA

Abstract


The COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia resulted in a policy of physical restrictions. The government
urges the government to work, study, and worship from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students carry out
learning from home as an effort to break the chain of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Lack of supervision in
conducting online learning makes students tend to procrastinate learning time. The aim of this research is to reduce
academic procrastination behavior through group guidance services using video-based learning media from the
Canva video application. The results of this study are expected to be able to develop a theory about the application
of group guidance services with video-based learning media from the Canva video application as an effort to
reduce academic procrastination behavior. Academic procrastination is a failure to start doing or completing a task
or activity at the specified time. The procrastinator does not mean to avoid the task at hand but only delays doing
it so that it takes a long time to complete the task. Group guidance that utilizes video-based learning media with
the Canva application as an action that aims to change student behavior. The provision of learning materials is
made as attractive as possible with learning video media from the Canva application as an effort so that students
can apply strategies to change their behavior for the better. This study uses the Guidance and Counseling Action
Research (PTBK) model. In this study there are two types of research variables. The independent variable
(independent variable) is group guidance services using Canva application video-based media and the dependent
variable is reducing academic procrastination in students. The subjects of this study were 8th grade students who
performed academic procrastination behavior. The instruments used are questionnaires and observation guidelines.
The stages in this PTBK start from planning, action, observation and reflection. Based on the results of the
questionnaire and the results of observations have shown a decrease in academic procrastination behavior in
students.
