PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS

Abstract


This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in learning English by using the PBL learning model. The
subjects of this study were students of class VII SMP IT Mutiara Irsyady, totaling 30 people with details of 13
male students and 17 female students. The methodology of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR)
which consists of two cycles and each cycle consists of one meeting. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing,
observing and reflecting. The data collection technique is the collection of test scores which is carried out at the
end of each learning cycle in each cycle by using a question instrument (written test). Observation of the data is
done by looking at the activities and learning outcomes of students in the learning process. Data were analyzed
with percentage statistics. The results showed that there was an increase in student activity and learning outcomes
in both cycles, from the moderate to good category and from the good category to the very good category.
Completeness of student learning outcomes increased from 41.67% in the pre-cycle increased to 61.11% in the
first cycle and increased to 91.67% in the second cycle. The application of the PBL learning model can improve
student learning outcomes in learning English
