One alternative that can be taken to make science learning more interesting and fun is to use the Problem Based
Learning (PBL) learning model. In this study, the researchers applied theme 2 to always save energy, sub-theme

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted at SDN Segoro Tambak Sedati Sidoarjo, as the
subjects in this study were fourth grade students, this research was conducted in two cycles. Regarding the
technique or method of data collection, the researcher used the method of observation, test of learning outcomes
and documentation. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed descriptively qualitatively.
Based on the data obtained from the results of the study, it can be concluded that learning using the Problem
Based Learning learning model is actually able to improve student learning outcomes in alternative energy
sources in science subjects for fourth grade students at SDN Segoro Tambak in the 2021/2022 school year. This
is evidenced by the results of student evaluations held after the learning process in cycle I and cycle II. In the
improvement of learning cycle I, students who scored above the KKM were 5 out of 14 children with a learning
mastery percentage of 36.36% and the average learning outcome was 61.43. In the second cycle, the results of the
evaluation of learning improvements increased, namely the number of students who achieved the KKM as many
as 12 children out of 14 children with the percentage of completeness reaching 85.71% and the average learning
outcome increasing to 78.57.
