Abstract

The learning outcomes of sixth graders at SDN Sukahurip, Cipatujah District, Tasikmalaya Regency on the theme
of Globalization are still low, as evidenced by student learning outcomes that have not reached the KKM 70.
Students are less interested in lessons so that the material delivered by the teacher is easily forgotten. Concept
deepening is reduced, and students do not get the opportunity to explore what students want or need to know. The
formulation of the problem from this research is whether the Problem Based Learning Model can improve the
Learning Outcomes of Class VI students of SDN Sukahurip on the Globalization Theme? The purpose of this study
was to obtain objective and factual data whether the Problem Based Learning Model could improve the learning
outcomes of sixth graders at SDN Sukahurip on the Globalization Theme. This research is a classroom action
research conducted in three cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation,
observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were grade VI students of SDN Sukahurip, Cipatujah District,
Tasikmalaya Regency, totaling 12 students including 6 male students and 6 female students. Research instruments
include observation sheets and test questions. Data collection methods used are observation and tests. The data
were analyzed statistically using the percentage formula, if 70% of students scored above the KKM and actively
asked and answered during the learning process, the cycle was stopped. The results showed that the Problem
Based Learning Model could improve the learning outcomes of sixth grade students at SDN Sukahurip, Cipatujah
District, Tasikmalaya Regency on the Globalization Theme. The increase in class average scores from Cycle I
(69.16) to Cycle II (75) to Cycle III (84.17). This is based on the increase in learning outcomes in the first cycle
of 41.6%; Cycle II 75%; and Cycle III 91.7%. In the first cycle the percentage of student activity in asking questions
was 30%, an increase in the second cycle by 28% to 58%. For the third cycle, it increased by 18% to 76%. The
percentage of active students in answering in the first cycle was 45%, an increase in the second cycle by 26% to
71%. For the third cycle, it increased by 11% to 82%.
