Abstract


In the learning process, it was found that the behavior of students was still confused when the teacher asked
students to read a certain text because they were not able or not yet skilled in reading. There are students
who have not been able to identify letters as constituents of words and there are also those who have not
been able to string letters into words or string words into sentences. The inability of these students can
certainly hinder the success of teachers in delivering subject matter and cause low learning outcomes
achieved by students. In the use of the Problem Based Learning method, there are 5 learning processes,
namely student orientation to problems, organizing students, guiding investigations, developing work,
