PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING DAN METODE DISKUSI TERHADAP KEAKTIFAN PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATERI POKOK STRUKTUR DAN FUNGSI JARINGAN KELAS VIII SMPN 27 TULANG BAWANG BARAT

Abstract


Most teachers currently use learning methods that are teacher-centered. In fact, 21st century learning is no longer
focused on teachers, but students who become objects to play a more active role. A teacher is only a learning
facilitator, mentor and learning director. This research is a classroom action research, carried out in class VIIIa
in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year which aims to determine the increase in student activity
through the application of the Discovery Learning learning model and discussion methods on the structure and
function of the science subject network at Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 27 Tulang Bawang Barat. Collecting
data in this study through observations of individual attitudes of students carried out in a written test with the bold
mode of the Quizziz application, the tools used to collect research data: observation sheets, a list of questions on
the Quizziz application. Because the study was conducted during a pandemic, where there was contact with the
number of students for face-to-face contact, in the first cycle the entire population of class VIII was oddly absent
as many as 16 students. Meanwhile, in the second cycle of learning, it was possible for all students to do full faceto-face learning, as many as 32 students. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using descriptive analysis
techniques with presentations, besides that it was also based on the reflection of each cycle of action. From this
study, the results obtained; 1) the inactivity of students in learning can be seen from learning activities that do not
involve students to play an active role in the learning process; 2) Utilization of the Discovery Learning learning
model and discussion methods can be combined to increase the active role of students in learning the material of
Network Structure and Function in class VIII odd semester TP. 2021/2022 at Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri
27 Tulang Bawang Barat.Based on these results, it can be said that the Discovery Learning learning model and
the discussion method have an effect on the activeness of students in the material of Network Structure and
Function in Class VIII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 27 Tulang Bawang Barat
