Abstract


This increasingly competitive world, demanding its generation to be smart, creative, and innovative. All these skills can be realized, one of them through the activities of creative reading. This develops critical thinking thinking in children. Understanding critical concepts and thinking are two important qualities of a successful individual. The General Purpose of School Literacy Movement (GLS) is to nurture students' morality through the culture of the school literacy ecosystem embodied in the School Literacy Movement so that they become lifelong learners. The Special Purpose of School Literacy Movement (GLS) is: (a) fostering literacy culture in schools . (b) Increase the capacity of citizens and school environments to be literate. (c) make the school a fun and child-friendly learning park so that the school community can manage knowledge. (d) maintain the continuity of learning by presenting a variety of reading books and accommodating various reading strategies. Serious and sustained start-up of literacy in schools, families, and communities from early on, is not impossible that the quality of resources and education in Indonesia, especially on the island of Buton, is beginning to improve towards the better. At grade level one to three, each student is required to read and write at home through the application of independent reading assignments. Every student has a reading. This reading obligation continues until junior and senior high school levels. What distinguishes it is the reading material and the minimum time limit.
