Abstract


The Panji story becomes one of the central stories in Javanese society. The Panji story is used as an instrument to see and view the cultural conditions of the intergenerational era. Nowadays life where time transformation community medium has a modernization lace required views about ethicsstudy. This study aims to identify ethical Javanese values in Panji story. This research is a qualitative research with ethnographic theoretical reference. The data in this study are words, sentences, and paragraphs that reflect the values of ethics with the Java community attitudes and behavior in Panji story. The data in this study were analyzed by using content analysistechnique start form collecting and encoding data using ethics theory, data reducer, data exposure, and withdrawal conclusion and verification. This research produces several things. Javanese Ethics in Panji Storysuch as harmony with get along and respect principle. Javaneseethics isviewed as a solutions in avoiding conflicts, recognizing the hierarchical structure of society, and avoiding emotions. The researchof Panji story is rich of noble values so that the story can be taken as a solution to the problem of degradation or ethical transformation that includes dressing, doing, and speaking. The importance of this research is also as a form of care or preservation of values between generations so that it can be used as a character education guide or one of material in learning modern curriculum by utilizing story from local wisdom.
