KETERBACAAN TERJEMAHAN DAN SERAPAN ISTILAH-ISTILAH TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI DALAM TEKS PANDUAN KOMPUTER HP: PETUNJUK KONFIGURASI

Abstract

Indonesian is an open and dynamic national language so that it can keep the existence in the era of advanced and developed information technology. It can be conducted by translating and adopting the information technology terms. The objective of the study is describing the readability of English-Indonesian translated and adopted information technology terms. The content analysis, in-depth interview, and questionnaire techniques were used for gathering the data. The sources of the data covered the two documents of English and Indonesian Computer HP Guiding Textbooks. Based on the data analysis, the information technology terms were translated and adopted into Indonesian. The terms translation focused on their readability while the terms were adopted with the strategies of changing the spelling, writing them completely with spelling change, and combining the two. The research results indicate the translations of the terms were readable or clear. The readers have got accustomed to the information technology program and language.
