Pemberdayaan masyarakat di wilayah cabang muhammadiyah Sewon Utara melalui pelatihan kewirausahaan olahan keripik usus ayam

Abstract


Chicken, especially its meat, is one of the commodities consumed by most Indonesian people and the demand continues to increase. However, one of the by-products from Chicken Slaughterhouses, such as chicken intestines, is still not being utilized properly, especially in the Sewon Utara area. This is due to the lack of knowledge regarding food processing techniques, appropriate selling price determination, and how to market products. They still had a lack of entrepreneurial interest among the North Sewon Muhammadiyah community as well. Based on this problem, this community service activity aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit through training in processing chicken intestines into intestine chips up to the process of determining the selling price. This activity was carried out on March 21 2024 and April 27 2024 at the Al Aqrob Mosque area, Ngancar, Wojo, Bangunharjo, Sewon, Bantul. The first activity is in the form of providing material to improve entrepreneurship and the second activity is training on processing intestinal chips products up to determining the selling price. There were 24 participants involved in this activity who were selected by the North Sewon Muhammadiyah (PCM) Branch Community Empowerment Council. Evaluation of activities is obtained based on the results of the pre-test and post-test before and after training. After carrying out training activities, the results showed that knowledge and skills increased regarding processing chicken intestine chips and determining prices significantly (p<0.001) from an average value of 80.83±17.17 to 91.56±10.14. This shows that these training activities can increase knowledge and skills that support participants in becoming entrepreneurs. However, in making chicken intestines chips business sustainable, it is necessary to provide further programs in the form of mentoring and business coaching, especially for beginners in the business sector.
