Pendampingan proses produksi kerajinan kayu UMKM Tunas Karya, Dusun Gumawang, Kecamatan Patuk, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul

Abstract

Tunas Karya MSME is engaged in woodcraft business, such as household equipment and various traditional games. Production process is carried out in a production house. Tunas Karya MSME has several constraints of production process, including the production layout. It hasn’t implemented concept of 5S. As a result, working process become less than optimal. This also makes workers more vulnerable to work accidents. Work positions tend to be static and uncomfortable, will cause fatigue if conducted in a long time. Another obstacle is in batik process for woodcraft product. This is due to the lack of skilled workers to conduct batik process. Therefore, a series of community service activities is conducted to create awareness and understanding for workers in Tunas Karya MSME relating to concept of 5S, ergonomics, and K3. It also aims to improve the skills of workers to do batik process for woodcraft product. Counseling and training are conducted to workers in Tunas Karya MSME. The counseling of 5S, ergonomics, and K3 were attended by 21 workers in production department while the training was attended by 5 people who were planned to be placed in batik process.
