Pelatihan dan pendampingan guru SD dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis STEM di PCM Kalasan

Abstract


Kalasan PCM (Branch Board of Muhammadiyah) as a partner of Ahmad Dahlan University has some problems such as the lack of teachers’ skills in developing learning media so that it resulted on the low ability of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of students. For this reason, it was deemed necessary to conduct training for teachers at Kalasan PCM. The training was done to introducing STEM-based learning while simultaneously mentoring the teachers in making STEM-based media to maximize the ability of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of elementary students in the Kalasan PCM environment. The program method consists of (1) training on STEM Education, (2) training on STEM-based learning models, (3) mentoring on STEM-based media making, and (4) peer teaching practice with STEM-based learning. The results and impact of the training are (1) increasing the teachers’ knowledge about STEM Education, (2) increasing the teachers’ ability in making learning plans using STEM-based learning models, (3) increasing the teachers’ skills in making STEM-based media, and (4) increasing the teachers’ ability in implementing STEM education in the classroom.
