Abstract

The purpose of community service activities is to improve the ability of teachers to write poetic texts so that they help teachers teach poetic texts and create literary appreciation. The method used is as follows. (1) providing training on understanding the concept of poetry; (2) practice the ability to write poetic texts with various techniques; (3) provide knowledge about teaching poetic texts. The result of this activity is that teachers have the same understanding of the concept of poetry and teach poetry in an easy and fun way. In addition, the teacher is able to create poetic texts that can be used as teaching material. This activity has a direct impact on teacher self-development and learning Indonesian, especially poetry material in junior high schools.
