Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui peningkatan efisiensi dan efektivitas pada produksi daur ulang sampah plastik

Abstract

Plastic is a type of inorganic waste that is mostly produced by households. One of this type of waste handling is the recycling process. The Kamulyan waste bank, located in Brontokusuman Village, Mergangsan District, Yogyakarta City, recycles plastic waste into various products such as ecobricks, bags, wallets, etc. This garbage bank is able to process waste into ecobricks, but it is still simple and not yet varied, so the results of the products are less attractive which will have an impact on the selling value of the product. Besides that, this community group has not been able to determine the selling price of ecobricks because of the lack of knowledge about financial management and reporting. This community service program has carried out several activities to overcome community problems. Some community empowerment programs provided to the Kamulyan Garbage Bank in the form of counseling and direct practice related to production management related to the innovation of plastic waste recycling and financial management. Counseling and production management practices include the importance of innovating plastic waste recycling and the creation of systematic and structured production standard operating procedures (SOPs) so that the quality of the products is maintained. While counseling and financial management practices include the formulation of production prices to determine the selling price and bookkeeping in the financial statements. The Kamulyan Garbage Bank has held an exhibition in Fredeburg and received positive responses from visitors who were impressed with the ecobrick products on display. Hope in the future the community will be able to be independent in improving the quality and quality of ecobrick products so that they are worth selling and able to improve the economy of the community, especially the Kamulyan Garbage Bank and surrounding areas
