Pelatihan implementasi program pendidikan kedamaian di sekolah menengah kejuruan Muhammadiyah Berbah Kabupaten Sleman

Abstract

The mandate of the state on the successor of the Indonesian nation is, "to participate in carrying out world order based on independence, eternal peace and social justice." The reality is that not all students are able to carry out the mandate and instead display aggressive behavior in the industrial era 4.0 such as hitting teachers, insulting teachers, uncontrolled emotions, intolerance, and spreading negative information. Peace of mind in students is a strategy for teachers to integrate the building of peaceful minds in learning. Training on the implementation of a peace education program at the Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Berbah in Sleman Regency was conducted using counseling methods, workshops, mentoring, independent assignments, and simulations. This community service program involves the Muhammadiyah branch manager of the Berbah Sleman District and the Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Berbah in Sleman. The result of community service is the emergence of an understanding of teachers about the implementation of peace education. The results of peace education training are implemented in the learning settings by bringing up the topic of violence and discussed in learning so that students are committed not to bring up aggressive behavior. The results of peace education training were also manifested in student activities that were integrated with the momentum of August 17 by scheduling a class decorating contest with the theme of peace. Students are able to create their class as a zone of peace and declare their class as a class of peace.
