Abstract


The Rubik Community Learning Park provides free tutoring for elementary school aged children who have dropped out of school due to economic problems. Some of the problems faced by TBM Rubik are the lack of library materials to support learning activities, besides that the literacy skills of students are still low. This community service aims to improve literacy in learning English and Science for the elementary school level,. This community service activity is carried out through outreach and workshops aimed at helping tutors and students at TBM to apply literacy in learning. The methods used include observation (observation), interviews, documentation, socialization, training, and Monev (Monitoring and Evaluation). The results of this community service activity were: (1) this community service activity was able to provide alternative solutions to overcome the difficulties of students in TBM in understanding the material presented; (2) increasing students' literacy skills in understanding English and Science learning; (3) the provision of facilities & infrastructure, in the form of a mini library, which contains English and Science books for Tutors and Students at TBM.
