Pelatihan computational thinking dan pembuatan game sederhana bagi guru SD Muhammadiyah se-Kecamatan Wirobrajan

Abstract


Encountering the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0, Informatics Engineering UAD introduced the computational thinking (CT) method to Muhammadiyah elementary school teachers. The offline training took place at SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3, attended by teachers from Wirobrajan District. Meanwhile, online training was done by using the zoom meeting application and youtube followed by teachers from DIY. This training was attended offline by 40 Muhammadiyah teachers in Wirobrajan District and 30 participants who watched through the zoom and youtube application. Computational thinking (CT) teaches teachers to think critically and solve problems as computers work. With this training, it is hoped that the teacher can teach students and apply them to subjects in school. Apart from teaching CT, this training also introduces how to make simple games using the Scratch and Arduino Makey-Makey. Making this game is quite easy and can be done even by elementary school children. It is hoped that learning in class will be more fun with the simple games made by teachers and students themselves. Based on the evaluation, almost all participants were satisfied and willing to take part in the next training activity. Participants also felt the benefits of learning CT and wanted further training on game development.
