Literasi media mengatasi kecanduan internet pada komunitas Cacak Yuk Lumajang

Abstract


Currently, the world is entering an era of communication technology marked by the internet which has brought many changes to society. The high use of the internet by modern society does not mean it has no impact on human life. Addictive behavior in using the internet has a side effect on human communication patterns. This activity was carried out with the participants being members of the Cak Yuk Lumajang Association, they are prone to excessive internet access, accessing sites that are not useful so that media literacy is needed for them. The members of the association are aged 15 to 30 years, so this activity is expected to be able to make them wiser in using media, especially the internet and social media. The aim of this service is that the Cacak Yuk Lumajang community, which mostly contains young people who are wise in media, are especially able to overcome internet addiction. Media literacy activities are carried out virtually using the zoom application. The activity was carried out by distributing questionnaires to find out or read behavior in using media and the second stage was providing literacy. Participants were enthusiastic and actively discussed internet addiction. Applications or social media that are frequently accessed are Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter. Most of the activities carried out are looking at or posting stories on Instagram, but most of them are just looking at it. The things conveyed help increase knowledge to be wise in using the media. They are also encouraged to be more critical in using social media.Keywords: literacy, media literacy, hoax, internet addiction.
