Abstract

Abstract. Racism remains a deeply rooted issue in multicultural societies, including the United States. This study employs Critical Race Theory (CRT) to examine the perpetuation of racism, particularly during the Trump administration. It identifies white supremacy as a prevailing norm in America, exacerbating racial issues. Using qualitative data analysis, the study scrutinizes policies under Trump and Biden, highlighting their racial implications. Data collection involved literature reviews and documents of policies.

The research found that Trump's policies often reinforced systemic racism and marginalized racial groups. Notable policies include the Travel Ban, Family Separation Policy, and cuts to social welfare programs. These measures disproportionately affected non-white communities, perpetuating racial inequalities. Conversely, Biden's policies, such as the American Rescue Plan and executive orders on diversity and inclusion, aimed to address these disparities and promote racial equity.

The study concludes that Trump's administration frequently exacerbated racial inequities, while Biden's initiatives represent a deliberate effort to rectify past injustices and advance social justice. Understanding the historical context, structural elements, and personal narratives associated with these policies is crucial for advocating for racial fairness and societal equity. The findings underscore the importance of adopting comprehensive and fair policymaking approaches to combat systemic racism effectively.
