Abstract

The seminar delves into the intricate relationship between transcendence, Islamic teachings, and positive psychology, elucidating how these elements collectively contribute to holistic well-being. Transcendence, defined as the pursuit of meaning and connection beyond the self, is a core tenet in both Islamic spirituality and positive psychology. This paper aims to explore the synergistic effects of Islamic practices, such as prayer, meditation, and community involvement, on psychological resilience, happiness, and overall life satisfaction. Recent studies indicate that religious and spiritual practices significantly enhance well-being by fostering a sense of purpose, increasing self-efficacy, and reducing anxiety. In the context of Islam, transcendence is achieved through a profound connection with Allah, adherence to religious rituals, and the cultivation of virtues such as gratitude, compassion, and forgiveness. These practices align closely with the principles of positive psychology, which emphasizes the importance of positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment (PERMA). Through a comprehensive review of contemporary research and empirical data, this seminar will highlight how the practice of Islamic transcendence strengthens mental health, promotes social connectedness, and increases overall life satisfaction. We will also discuss practical applications of these findings, offering insights into how individuals and communities can harness the power of transcendence and positive psychology to achieve optimal well-being. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the transformational potential of integrating Islamic spirituality with the principles of positive psychology, encouraging a balanced approach to personal growth and social harmony. This paper is ideal for psychologists, scholars, and anyone interested in the intersection of faith, psychology, and well-being.
