Adolescent Reproductive Health Education Based on Local Wisdom at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalibawang

Abstract

The problems at Muhammadiyah 2 Middle School Kalibawang have always been a serious
issue to be addressed immediately. This can be seen from student interactions at school. The
purpose of this activities is to provide education on adolescent social problems, especially
reproductive health using traditional game approach and mentoring teachers in local wisdombased learning at school.
Education is carried out through training activities for students, mentoring for teachers, and
the preparation of modules for initiating health care extracurricular activities in schools.
Student training activities are carried out using the traditional game method with a local
wisdom approach. The offline training was attended by 64 students (grades 7 and 8),
involving 11 students of reproductive health elective courses on Tuesday morning, 21 June
2022 along with teacher mentoring activities.
The training is divided into two stages: the first material discusses sexual harassment, and the
second material discusses bullying. At the end of the activity, traditional games, role playing
& questions and answers (QnA) were held. This training was also used in making
promotional videos for school, as well as news in print and online media. This program
succeeded in involving a teacher to compile a health care module as a initiation for
extracurricular programs and include it in science material. The impact of this activity is that
schools are establish a health care extracurricular program to reduce the symptoms of
promiscuity and juvenile delinquency, especially at Muhammadiyah 2 Middle School
Kalibawang
