Peningkatan pemahaman dan pelatihan pertolongan pertama gawat darurat (PPGD) pada pemuda di Banguntapan

Abstract

Understanding and skills in first-aid play a crucial role for everyone, especially young people, as they hold the potential for change and societal development. Indonesia is a developing country with a high population of workers and elderly. Indonesia, particularly in Yogyakarta, has geographical characteristics that make various types of natural disasters likely to occur. In such situations, there is a need for good understanding and skills in life-saving measures, as this increases the chances of survival for victims. Today's young generation, including youth in Muhammadiyah, are the future of the country, and the government has a responsibility to raise awareness and knowledge among its citizens about emergency first-aid as they can save many lives. This activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of young people in providing emergency first-aid, including basic life support. The activity took place on January 21, 2024, starting with presentations, demonstrations, practical sessions, and evaluations. The evaluation showed an improvement in understanding among all participants and skills among almost all trainees. The youth are now capable and confident in independently providing first-aid for accidents and other emergencies that may occur to themselves or their surroundings. They can also provide first-aid for the community if needed.
