Memahami Kebermaknaan Hidup Sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Psikologis Lanjut Usia

Abstract


Bertambahnya populasi lansia di Indonesia menuntut perhatian secara khusus mengenai kesejahteraan psikologisnya. Perhatian terkait hal ini perlu dilakukan karena problematika lanjut usia yang tidak mengalami kebermaknaan hidup dapat berdampak negatif pada kesehatan mental. Masalah tersebut menuntun tujuan penelitian mendeskripsikan kebermaknaan hidup lanjut usia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Subjek penelitian adalah lanjut usia di Sompok, Sriharjo, Imogiri, Bantul. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur. Analisis data adalah analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kebermaknaan hidup pada lanjut usia terdiri dari peningkatan kebebasan untuk bertindak (freedom of will), bertambahnya keinginan untuk menemukan makna hidup (will too meaning) dan semakin tumbuh makna hidup sendiri (meaning of life). Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan melakukan intervensi psikologis kebermaknaan hidup yang berguna menumbuhkan kesejahteraan psikologis di komunitas lansia.
