Kecerdasan Emosional : Peran Kelekatan Orangtua dan Dukungan Sosial Siswa SMPN

Abstract


This study aims to examine the relationship between parental attachment and peer social support with emotional intelligence in students of SMPN Pesawaran. The research method uses quantitative methods. Sampling was carried out with non-probability with saturated sampling technique with a total of 82 students as research subjects. The research instruments used were parents attachment scale, peer social support scale, and emotional intelligence scale. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 19 for windows software. The results of the major hypothesis analysis show p = 0.000 (p<0.01) with a regression coefficient R of 0.495 indicating that the major hypothesis is accepted.The results of the minor hypothesis analysis show p = 0.000 (p<0.01)  and p = 0.611 (p>0.05) indicating that the minor hypothesis one is accepted while the minor hypothesis two is rejected. The conclusions in this study are (1) there is a very significant relationship between parents attachment and peer social support with emotional intelligence; (2) there is a very significant relationship between parents attachment and emotional intelligence; (3) there is no relationship between peer social support and emotional intelligence.
