EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT IN DEALING WITH MULTIPLE ROLES IN MIDDLE-AGE WOMEN (A COMMUNITY APPROACH)

Abstract


This study aims to provide an understanding to the subject in order to be able to recognize the emotional state felt to face multiple roles in middle-aged women. It was found that mothers sometimes showed inappropriate reactions, namely uncontrolled emotions when faced with problem objects (children, husbands, or neighbors) that influenced feelings and behavior. The existence of inaccurate perceptions, namely differences in perceptions of the interlocutor and management of emotions that are not good enough to create negative emotions, namely anger and harboring problems that cause discomfort. This can not be separated from the multiple roles experienced, namely the role of a wife, mother, as well as part of the community members/organizational management. This research is able to provide awareness to participants to recognize what situations and emotions are felt which are then realized and managed. Relaxation practices are also taught to add skills for participants, especially to help manage emotions.
