ABSTRACT

Abstract. The aim of this study is to find out the participants’ satisfaction of tour guide training at Kampung Karangkajen after they joined the tour guide training. The training consists of some stages: the initial stage, the implementation stage, the workshop stage, the final stage, evaluation. The training was held for 2 days with 19 participants. From the pre-training questionnaire regarding participants' understanding and skills in tourist guiding, it was found that, the majority of the participant (81.2%) did not confirm positively their understanding on tour guide, the principle and techniques in becoming a tour guide, and the rest got well understand or very skillfull (0.75%) and quite understand or quite skillful (18.05%). After the training event, the majority participants (more than 84.76%) show their improving knowledge and skills of tour guide. The results ranged from well understand or very skillful (11.43%), quite understand/skilful (73.33%) and not quite understand/not quite skilful (15.24%). Further, from the satisfaction questionnaire it was discovered that 98.7% of participants responded positively indicating that they were very satisfied and satisfied and 1.3% said they were neutral. From this activity, it was seen that the participants showed enthusiasm for practicing and hoped that the activity could be continued and held again in a longer period of time.
