Abstract


The implementation of Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee will require that all products circulating in Indonesia must be halal-certified. On the other hand, Indonesian people's concern, both consumers and food producers, for halal certification is still low. Ahmad Dahlan University canteen also does not have a halal certificate. The aim of these activity was done initiation activity to make the UAD canteen become halal certified. The kind of activity were training and workshops which include workshops to increase halal awareness, SJH application workshops at the canteen and mentoring on the preparation of SJH documents at the canteen. The workshop will involve the administrators of the ADI cooperative who are responsible for the control and supervision of the campus canteen, the employees of each canteen unit on each campus. The result of this training is  increasing awareness and understanding of the application of the concept of halal in the canteen and the ability of participants to compile canteen SJH documents. This increasing was from 37.08 ± 5.05 to 81, 87 ± 8.75. This difference in results is also influenced by several factors, namely the age and education level of the trainees. The output of the halal guarantee system training conducted showed that there was a significant increase in knowledge of participants from before the training was carried out until after the training.
