Abstract

village of Wukirsari has various social problems that are horizontal in its society, ranging from infidelity, fighting over inheritance, divorce, buying and selling land, and other problems. For this reason, the village needs to form a special institution under the village whose function is to help resolve all kinds of disputes in the community as mandated in Article 26 paragraph 4 letter k of the Shrimp Law No. 6 concerning Villages, which states that the Village Head is obliged to resolve disputes by its citizens. This institution will later focus on settlement by means of deliberation or mediation, so the name Wukirsari Village Mediation Institute is used. However, the next problem is that the Wukirsari Village Government does not know how the system and how to form it, besides that the village government also does not have human resources who have sufficient capacity to run the institution. The methods used in this activity are lectures, questions and answers, interactive discussions and practicing simulation of mediation by Wukirsari village officials who are accompanied by competent lecturers, mediators and legal practitioners. Based on the training and mentoring activities of Village mediation institutions that have been carried out, it can be concluded that this activity has had a very good impact on the village officials of Wukirsari. This was indicated by the very high enthusiasm of the participants to take part in this training activity, which was seen in the high participation of participants in discussion activities and simulation of mediation. Another impact of this activity is a change in the knowledge and skills of village officials in conducting mediation. The most important impact of this service activity is that partners have a Village Mediation Institution which will be very beneficial for the people of Wukirsari Village.
