Pemberdayaan masyarakat perempuan Kulonprogo melalui olahan pangan berbahan dasar pisang

Abstract

The development of the New Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulonprogo has opened additional economic opportunities for the nearby communities. Thus, certain programs that can improve entrepreneurial skills are very much needed. This program aims to provide knowledge and skills to women in Kulonprogo to process and get economic added value from the abundant and low-cost banana plantation resources into varied, innovative, highly nutritious, widely demanded, so that there is an increase in women's entrepreneurship at the economic level of family, society, and local government. The operational mode is training in the skills of processing bananas into banana cake, banana syringe cake, and banana croquettes filled with ragout, each consisting of several flavors. By partnering with the Regional Management of Aisyiyah Kulonprogo Regency through the ummat empowerment program, as many as 60 participants attended the program. They represented all sub-districts in Kulonprogo Regency through selection by the Head of the Aisyiyah Branch for the District Region. The learning materials include community empowerment strategies, micro-business initial management, entrepreneurial motivation, theory and practice of some banana-based processing, processed flavor techniques, processed attractiveness techniques, packaging techniques, calculation of business capital, strategies for implementing selling prices, product marketing theory, product display theory, simple accounting and reporting theory, and business continuity. The program consisted of training and practice for two days, on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, 2018 at the Aisyiyah Food Processing Training Center DIY (PPOPA) Gamping at 08.00-16.00 Western Indonesian Time. The follow-ups of this program are in the form of monitoring and continuous business assistance for 6 months, evaluation and improvement, also providing business motivation for new entrepreneurs.
